“Peace I leave with you. My
peace I give to you.” John 14:27
One of the greatest
things in the world you can give to your child is PEACE. Oh, but you can’t give it until YOU get
it. Our children are searching for a
safe, peaceful place in the world today.
There is much turmoil out there, but don’t let it get in here—in your
heart, in your home. Your home needs to
be a safe haven from opposition for your child.
You can set the tenor of your home.
Remember the old saying, “If Mama ain’t happy, ain’t nobody
happy!” There is more truth to this
than you can imagine. You can set the
atmosphere of your home. You are Lord in
your home so use that authority wisely.
It begins by
starting your day with the Word of God.
His Spirit lives in you. Start by
decreeing that no spirit is allowed in my home today except that which is
pleasing to God Almighty. Anything in my
home must glorify God. Set a watch
before my mouth and guard the words of my lips—until I can get my heart right. I prayed this scripture for many years until
Bro. Tommy Williams shared with us that by now your heart should be well
trained and filled with His Word. I
began to examine my heart and realize that scripture was just a crutch and
excuse for my bad behavior. I must get
current with doing the Word. I was just
being lazy. Oh, and I really don’t want
lazy kids, do I?
So there will be
areas where we need to learn before our children can see the truth in
action. When they see the peace you are
walking in coming out your mouth and evident in your actions they will be drawn
to it.
Just the other
day I was aggravated about something when I had my grand kids with me. Miss Kate looked over to Lauren and said, “I
think Gammy needs a hug!” Kids catch on
fast! They can be such a blessing when
they have the right way taught to them.
Are you walking
in peace yet? I will if you will. Give
your children the gift of coming home to find peace and joy available to them.
Father, today
we have the peace of God that passes understanding available to us through your
Word. I receive it now for my home and
my family. Thank you for your special
provision for my needs to be met and those of my children. Amen.
Blessings,
Mama
